Types of Thermoplastic Extrusion

Plastic extrusions are versatile and suited to applications across a variety of business sectors. Plastic tubes and plastic profiles can be flexible or rigid, co-extruded plastic profiles can combine two different colours or materials in a single profile. Custom plastic extrusion produces light diffusers, cladding trims, EPOS strips and specialist plastic tube and plastic profile to numerous technical specifications.

We produce plastic profiles up to 300mm wide and plastic tubes from 2mm to 160mm in diameter, with extensive facilities to carry out secondary operations. 		Plastic Profiles
		Rigid
		We manufacture rigid plastic profiles for a huge variety of industries in many materials, to numerous specifications. Typically plastic profiles have a regular 1mm to 5mm wall, and include anything from a simple U channel to a complex section with several mating parts.

		Flexible
		Flexible plastic profiles come in various hardnesses. Plastic profile is manufactured in several materials and colours and may include irreglular wall thickness. Tooling for flexible plastic profiles is relatively inexpensive.

		Co-extruded
		Co-extruded plastic profiles combine two different materials or colours in a single plastic profile. The co-extrusion technique is often used in place of adding a gasket or seal to a rigid plastic profile as a secondary operation on assembly. Alternatively a stripe of a second colour can be introduced.

		Plastic Tubes
		Rigid
		From 2mm O/D to 160mm O/D we can manufacture any size plastic tubing with any wall. Plastic tube orders are usually manufactured and delivered in two weeks. Minimum runs are generally 2,000 mts, but may be less for heavy plastic tubes and more for smaller plastic tube diameters. We can cut to length, manufacture in colours or clear plastic, and extrude in many materials, such as Rigid PVC, ABS, HIP, Polyprop, HDPE, Polycarb, PETG, Bayblend, Nylon and more. Tooling is available for the majority of plastic tubing sizes.

		Flexible
		Flexible tubes are available in the same range of dimensions as rigid plastic. Given the very specialist nature of some flexible tubes such as those used for medical devices, minimum run lengths will be adjusted to suit the application. We can cut to length or coil flexible plastic tubes, manufacture in colours or clear plastic, and extrude in several materials, such as Flexible PVCs including nitrile modified, TPRs or TPEs and Polyurethane. Tooling is available for the majority of plastic tubing sizes.
